Outlook Troubleshoot

When I click on “Send/Receive”, I get an error.

  1. Solutions
    1. Check if your internet is active and working. Internet connection must be active to use outlook emails. Without Internet connection, you can just view the emails which are already there in your inbox, sent items, personal folders, deleted items etc. You can read them, delete them, or change the folders. You cannot reply, send, or forward emails without Internet connection.
    2. Check login with webmail. (www.yourwebsite.com/webmail – then enter your email and password and click on “Enter”)
    3. If you can successfully login to your webmail, means your website, server, and email login details are all working well. There is some problem in the settings of Outlook.

i.      First, please delete if any email is in OUTBOX (Below Inbox).

ii.      Then follow the steps mentioned here.  Mainly consider the step 8 on this page: How to configure Email ID in Outlook 2007 (See the image below). There may be some incorrect selection of email ID, incoming and outgoing mail server names or password.

  5. Then click on “Test Account Settings” and check if you see both incoming and outgoing email processes completed? (See below)

    1. If after doing the settings in ADVANCED, by changing the port number to 26, your incoming/outgoing email shows error, please click on the second option “Outgoing Server” in the same window of “More Settings”.(See below image)

    2. Please check mark for the first option: My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication.
